Vinhos Verdes Wine Region – From Melgaço
This is an Alvarinho Wine produced with grapes from the Vinhos Verdes region by, namely Vinhas de Melgaço, in the extreme northwest of Portugal in the Monção and Melgaço region, known for producing the best Portuguese white Alvarinho grapes.
We are looking at a 100% Alvarinho wine, mono-grape, which presents the typical varietal characters of this mountainous region, minerality, persistent acidity and exotic fruit.
Finally, we highlight the fact that the Sonhador Alvarinho Wine 2013, is a White Wine, from the Vinho Verde Region, which after vinification is subjected to 4 months of aging in light lees.
2013 was a normal year in the region, a little warmer than usual allowing greater expression of fruit, but with typical contained acidity
Tasting note: Alvarinho Sonhador 2013 wine, presented in the glass with a deep straw color, green reflections, a complex bouquet of aging in a 5-year bottle, notes of lemon, sweet lychee and elderflower. Already in the mouth, it shows a creamy taste, a little honey, long finish with firm acidity.
Grape varieties/variety: 100% ALVARINHO.
Harmonization: Our proposal, based on the winemaker's recommendation, Wine Sonhador Alvarinho 2013 ideally accompany meals with seafood or even as a refreshing aperitif. At the limit, good company by the pool, beach or in the garden.
Temperature service: Consume and serve between 10ºC and 12ºC.
Responsible for oenology: David Baverstock
