VINHOS VERDES WINE REGION 

The current Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes extends throughout the northwest of Portugal, a province called Minho, where the production area with the geographical indication of Minho, corresponds exactly to the production of Vinho Verde, with each vineyard being able to originate to a Vinho Verde or a Vinho do Minho. Contrary to what it may sometimes seem, Vinho Verde is not a type of wine, but a region, where we can have green wines with red or white varieties.

The Royal Palmeira Loureiro White Wine 2017 is actually a Vinho Verde, produced from a vineyard located at the confluence of the rivers Cávado and Homem, near the city of Braga, is where we can find one of the most beautiful architectural monuments of Minho, the Paço da Palm tree.

A historical and story site, PAÇO DE PALMEIRA today maintains the size and elegance of the great manor houses of Minho, initially conceived in the 18th century as a residence for the leisure of Princes, Archbishops and the most illustrious Minho aristocracy, the palace combines simple lines of its architecture with the refinement of its interiors, breathing the beauty of the surrounding landscape and the spirituality of corners that are diluted in the marks of time.  

In its Vineyards, integrated in a Terroir characterized by a climate of Atlantic influence attenuated by some interiority, soils originating from the breakdown of granite rocks, resulting in the Royal Palmeira 2016 White Wine, mono-grape with 100% of the very typical national grape variety in the Wines region Green, known as Loureiro, this wine has the potential to evolve.

Tasting Notes: When trying the Royal Palmeira Loureiro White Wine 2017 we can appreciate a color with a clear, greenish-yellow tone, in the nose we register soft notes of tropical pineapple and lychee fruits, combined with a citrus touch, already in the mouth reveals us a Elegant and fresh wine with a well balanced acidity and tannins that give it a long finish.

Harmonization: From the experience we already had with this excellent monovarietal Royal White Palm Loureiro 2017 White Wine from the Vinho Verde region, it combines very well with seafood, lean fish and cured meat, but it can also be served as an aperitif and as a snack.

Serving temperature is: Should be served at a temperature between 11ºC and 12ºC.
