2017 is classified as a hot year, the second warmest year since 1931, with precipitation values much lower than normal, also classifying it as an extremely dry year, among the 4 driest since 1931. The harvest took place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of August with grapes from Quinta da Furada in Ervedosa do Douro. The grapes showed great quality and health, very tough and crunchy films, with ripe seeds. The fact of harvesting early allowed us to obtain grapes with a balanced natural acidity to produce fresh, elegant and precise wines.

Tasting Note: Red Wine Pata D’Urso 2017 is a complex wine, which clearly shows the Douro Valley Terroir in a hot year. Young and balanced, on the nose with notes of red fruits and some spice, in the mouth the wood is well integrated into the wine, making it elegant and delicate, with good volume and an excellent acidity that makes the finish very persistent.
