Regional Wines from Alentejo
The red wine WINEMAKER’S CHOICE Howard’s Folly 2013 is a Regional Wine from Alentejo.
A blend produced in Portalegre with four grape varieties, northeast of Alentejo, in the granitic foothills of the Serra de São Mamede, where the cooler temperatures, along with many old vines, add complexity and freshness.
This 2013 WINEMAKER’S CHOICE Howard’s Folly red wine is a special choice for the winemaker and founder of the winery, David Baverstock.
The grape harvest for this wine had a manual selection, as well as transport to the cellar in 15kg plastic boxes, followed by a production whose destemming was before the soft crushing, then distributed in tanks, where fermentation took place. and then aged for nine months in used French and American oak barrels. Mixed and bottled in April 2014, Bottled in June 2015.
Tasting Notes: When tasting and tasting WINEMAKER’S CHOICE Howard’s Folly 2013 red wine we register complex aromas of black fruits and plum fruits on the nose, the palate is firm and well structured with vibrant fruit and a good finish.
Grapes / grape varieties: Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional.
