D.O.C. Colares – Lisboa Wines Region
The wine region of Colares, integrated in the Wine Region of Lisbon, a little further away from Lisbon than its neighbor and competitor, the also very noble region of Carcavelos, is limited to the West by the Atlantic Ocean and to the South by the Serra de Sintra, the Colares Demarcated Region comprises the parishes of Colares, São João das Lampas and São Martinho, in the municipality of Sintra, being a Controlled Denomination of Origin since 1908, the westernmost Demarcated Region of Continental Europe and the smallest region producing still wines from Portugal.
This Red Wine Patrão Diogo 2017 is a wine of tribute to an ancestor of the family.
Result of a blend with Castelão and Aragonês grape varieties, from the clay-limestone soils of the region. Balanced between smoothness and acidity, light wine, with traces of red fruits and mint. Without wood, expressing the most "raw" potential of the varieties.
Tasting Notes: The Red Wine Patrão Diogo 2017 presents a fruity wine, well elaborated, notes of cherry, blueberry and spices, great finish. A wine with a good cost versus benefit ratio.
Grapes / grape varieties: Castelão and Aragonês.
Harmonization: This Red Wine Patrão Diogo 2017 is very suitable to be the wine of everyday life, which makes very good company with beef, pasta, poultry and veal.
