Red wine – Alentejo Wines Region - Portalegre
This Howard’s Folly Reserva Red 2015 is a red wine from the Alentejo region.
A blend that combines the grape varieties (70%) Syrah and Alicante Bouschet (30%), harvested in the Portalegre Vineyards in the Northeast of the Alentejo in the granitic foothills of the São Mamede mountain range. The combination of fresh grapes from high altitude and granitic soils combine to give wines of great refinement with structure, intense aromas and freshness.
David Baverstock, as the responsible winemaker of this wine, immediately sought to ensure that the grapes harvested in Portalegre were handled, chosen and transported manually in boxes of 15 kg each, to an urban winery located in Estremoz, with a yield of 4-5 tons / hectare .
In winemaking, a 12-month aging in new and aged barrels with French oak wood stands out.
Finally, the Howard’s Folly Red 2015 was bottled in June 2017.
