Viúva Gomes' wines present a vibrant character due to its specific terroir, dominated by sea storms and southern influence of Sintra's Hills. A temper region, located above the Atlantic Ocean, providing fresh and salty wines, with a light structure and high acidity

The Ramisco grape, authocthon in this region, along with its maritime environment, confer to the wine an Atlantic and balsamic character, a dry structure and a smooth mineral acidity. The tannins are also well marked, which attenuate as years go by. Aromatic notes of dry fruits and cedar resin.

If you are looking for old and historic wines, then this wine is a good bet, produced by a cellar with two centuries of history, half under the name Colares in Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Village, created in 1908. It is said that the Romans have already produced wines in that locality. A unique terroir, typical sandy soil! Where the vineyards resisted the phylloxera crisis and plague. Very deep roots contributed by blocking the spread of the causative agent. There was no need to use American plants here.
