In a magical environement, just a few minutes from the city of Peso da Régua, lies the heart of the project, initially pictured on Forrester's map, located in Lower Corgo in the District of Lamego. The Estate counts a total of 37ha, including 26ha of vines. ​Here, we can find the typical grapes from the Douro Region.

As we know, Port Wine is a wine filled with emotion and magic. The origin of the "São Leonardo" brand began with Quintas da Costa and Poisa - two families lived there, one on each farm, and the caretakers were brothers.

As there were no long-distance journeys at the time, the roads were very rudimentary. Thus, it was precisely in the middle of the path that they met, in the magnificent viewpoint of São Leonardo da Galafura, that inspired great poets, such as Miguel Torga, and continues today to enchant its visitors who visit this amazing viewpoint which inspired most of the poet's work.

That is why the Port Wines "São Leonardo" represent, in a certain way, a meeting of brothers. This Very Old Port Wine S. Leonardo 100 years, is “Bottled history” , resulting from a blend of 1895 and 1927. This wine crossed 3 centuries and represents a tribute to the unlimited lifespan of Port wine by presenting a perfect balance and an excepcional complexity.

Tasting Notes: This 100 year old Port Wine - S. Leonardo is a sensational experience. A key fact for the tasting note is that the mother wine for this blend comes from 1895 and its average age is just over 100 years. When lying in the glass, this wine looks like molasses, but not as thick or opaque. In fact, the wine is opaque like a new Vintage Port recently bottled, with some viscosity and a fantastic tear that takes more than 10 seconds to disappear. We saw here a real Porto color which stains the glass in a few shades of mahogany or burnt umber. On the nose, it reveals hints of aged molasses, honey, wheat, old leather, and perhaps a bit of varnish, pipe tobacco, cigar box, cut oats in steel and crystallized citrus fruits. The same palates follows in the mouth creating  an innovative experience that every wine lover must taste.
