Thank you for following us.

Portugal is the country with the greatest variety of indigenous grape varieties. Our

grape varieties make Portuguese wine production unique and make Portuguese wines

different from other countries in Europe and around the world.

Contrary to the global trend of concentrating on a small number of grape varieties, Portugal has managed to preserve and currently has around 250 indigenous grape varieties. However, in a world wine market dominated by varietal wines, the projection of our many grape varieties, most of which are produced in small vineyards, is still “timid”.
