We're back shipping to the United States of America!
[Last minute] August was a special month, news as always at madeinportucale.com and we returned to shipping to a territory that we had missed and that is part of the history of our project.
When we launched version 1.0 of the web portal www.madeinportucale.com, the United States of America, Germany and the United Kingdom were the source of the first orders.
In fact, on the first day, the first orders were for olive oil from Germany and gin from the United States.
After making a success of the Portuguese gin that we proudly promote and represent, our Portuguese wines followed, red, white, rose, sparkling and Port.
For a long time this was the region in the world where we did the most shipments, but at some point, for reasons beyond the control of the madeinportucale.com team, the rules changed in the US.
During this time, we could only maintain a relationship with B2b [business to business] customers with agents, professional partners who could somehow continue to import our products.
Despite the impediment that lasted for some time, our sadness was overcome by the connection maintained with followers on social networks, and there were countless messages and emails requesting our products and asking how and when they could order for that destination.
Finally, as we recently announced first-hand on Facebook, our online store has resumed operations in the United States of America.
Nonetheless, our B2c [Business to consumer] followers and customers now have a way to have our products, jams, oils, preserves, olive oil, wines, liqueurs, gin and other spirits delivered to their door.
This novelty is now possible from August (2020) with an international partnership that allows for an estimated transit time of 15 to 25 weeks (approximately 3 weeks) with customs costs and delivery to the door included, with some limitations, for example we can send a minimum of 1 bottle (between 1 and 3 kg) and a maximum of 48 (70 kg).
We are now returning to our temporarily suspended connection between Portugal and the United States of America, a relationship that, after all, is no longer new, takes us back to the history of both nations and Portuguese wine, had it not been used in the celebration of the Independence of the United States of America.
It seems that ever since General George Washington there has been a North American who has understood the importance of creating small comforts with original refinement.
Also on July 4, 1776, the independence of the United States of America was toasted and celebrated with Portuguese wine, apparently a preference of Thomas Jefferson.
The Art of Flavors, from Portugal... to the world, and now to the USA.
Dare to taste Portuguese flavors
